The Chief of Staff facilitates and supervises the activities of the Office of Public Information, the Bureau of Special Investigations, the Office of Advocacy Services, the Office of Children’s Services, the Office of Certification and the Office of Policy and Planning. He also serves as the coordinator of the Commissioner’s staff and assists the Commissioner in assigning and monitoring tasks in direct coordination with the Associate Commissioners. Chief of Staff David Jackson, J.D., formerly served as the senior attorney in the department’s legal office. The Chief of Staff monitors every major issue facing the department and advises the Commissioner on major policy issues.
