Strategic Plans and Quarterly Progress

Each year an operational plan is submitted to the Governor’s Executive Planning Office that outlines goals, strategies, and objective measures that the Department of Mental Health would like to achieve for the Intellectual Disabilities, Mental Illness, and Substance Abuse service divisions.   • 2-1-1 Connects Alabama - 211connectsalabama.org or dial 2-1-1 on your phone to access a database of resources throughout Alabama.

  • Alabama Connects - www.alabamaconnect.gov helps older adults and individuals with disabilities locate services they might need.

  • Disability Resources - www.disabilityresources.org/ALABAMA.html links individuals with disabilities to resources for a variety of different services.

  • SAMHSA E-mail updates - bit.ly/aPcvul allows you to sign up for specific e-mail alerts directly from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to stay informed about helpful publications, initiatives and resources.

  • Family and Consumer Advocacy - www.mh.alabama.gov/UT/4Advocates.aspx connects you with advocacy organizations within the state of Alabama for Intellectual Disabilities, Mental Illness, and Substance Abuse services.

  • Alabama Suicide Prevention Task Force - www.adph.org/suicideprevention contains crisis center directory, information, resources, and supports for individuals and families at risk of or recovering from suicide.
