Understanding the Basic Concept and Theory of ASAM

The primary focus of this online training curricula will be to gain a comprehensive understanding of both the five basic levels of care and the criteria dimensions outlined in ASAM PPC-2R in order to provide better treatment strategies and enhanced outcomes for the substance abuser.

  • Identify the five basic levels of treatment in the ASAM PPC-2R.
  • Understand and utilize the crosswalk for appropriate patient placement.
  • Examine existing treatment availability within the community to support the ASAM criteria.
  • Compare assessment tools and ASAM compatibility.

This is a 3 hour online training curricula; there are four modules, each consists of a training video with supporting materials. Please print out the supporting materials prior to viewing the training video.
