Sailboat

My art began four years ago. It has helped me In my recovery. Art helps me focus. I relax, have peace and perseverance in my journey of Recovery. I began doing art at ADS. It began opening my eyes to the world around me. It has given me an awareness of my ability. My art has helped me express myself in a calming way. I have several diagnoses; like personality disorder, schizoaffective, paranoid type, schizophrenia, and bipolar. Art has given me a canvas on which to paint- opening the world that I am in, on the road. Then I can go through it until I finish and I am done. Then I can turn over to the other side and it's a new beginning. It makes me feel great. It makes me feel great when others view it. My art gives me the feeling I can do anything. I use colors that bring out joy to me. My colors make me feel the colors of my painting. Feed a man a day he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish he will eat for a lifetime.
