Statewide Summit on The Crisis Continuum of Care

Hosted by the Alabama Department of Mental Health, this free event will provide information on a Crisis Continuum of Care in our state. This event is funded in part by the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors' Transformation Transfer Initiative grant.

Behavioral health crisis services have emerged as one of the most effective tools within the larger system of care to improve the lives of people struggling with mental illness and/or substance use disorder. The summit will offer presentations designed to educate and improve understanding of a crisis continuum of care and its redesign in the state of Alabama, as well as the topic of pilot crisis diversion centers.

National experts will present at the summit on a range of important areas related to crisis care services. Speakers include:

  • Leon Evans: Local Diversion Systems
  • Detective Nick Margiotta: Law Enforcement Collaboration and Training
  • Tom Lane, NCPS/CRPS: Peer and Consumer Directed Services
  • Vijay Ganju, PhD: System Assessment and Data
  • Pat Frawley, PhD: IDD, Dually Diagnosed and Complex Populations
