56 – Summer Bouquet

My name is Janie and I am a self-taught artist. If I see a picture in a book or magazine and I like it, I will paint it. I began attending the Day Program at the Arc of Walker County in 2015. I asked them if I could take painting lessons and they were delighted to help me achieve this goal. I love art because it is fun. I have arthritis and it helps me keep my hands moving. It is good therapy for me. My favorite things to paint are flowers, plants and animals. When I am painting, I feel calm and peaceful. Painting makes me happy.
