My name is Carol. I’m 72 years old. I’ve struggled with depression for much of my adult life. Even so, I’ve found some peace and happiness in church—that’s where I met my husband. We were married for 18 years, and I loved him deeply.

I’ve been drawing since elementary school. I enjoy the kind of drawings I do because I love people. When I draw, it helps me release my anxieties and frustrations. It’s a quiet joy that brings me comfort.
