My name is Harrison, and I am 6 years old. I was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at the age of 3. During my early years, I experienced some milestone regression and was nearly non-verbal at one point. However, I am much more than my diagnosis. There is and will always be a "ME" in Autism.

With the help of my mother and father, I created a piece titled "There is a ME in Autism" for the 2025 Capitol Showcase Art Exhibition. I will be graduating from Kindergarten at Hutchens Elementary School in Mobile County, where I received A & B Honor Roll certificates for both the 1st and 2nd quarters. I also completed Governor Kay Ivey's 2024 Summer Reading Challenge and received the Courage (2024) and Kindness (2025) awards.

I am a self-taught artist, and I love being creative with paints. While some people with ASD may have sensitivities to sensory stimuli, I do not experience discomfort with tactile sensations. In fact, I seek out slimy and wet textures, which makes using paint especially comforting for me. I hope that everyone enjoys my art and that it speaks to you.
