Hi, my name is Latressa, and I have Cerebral Palsy. I have difficulty using my hands, arms, and legs, and I use a power wheelchair to get around. I communicate using both a voice device and my own voice. Physical and occupational therapy have helped me overcome many challenges.
With my occupational therapist Kimberly’s support, I learned to drive my wheelchair on my own. I’ve also worked hard to feed myself at home. Over time, I taught myself how to paint, draw, and color using adaptive equipment. My teachers help by taping down my paper so it doesn’t move while I create. I love painting, drawing, and coloring because it makes me feel happy and proud. Choosing colors and seeing my finished artwork brings me joy.
