Colors Everywhere

I’m James, a 9-year-old boy diagnosed with Autism and a severe speech impairment at age 4. Since I didn’t have language early on, I learned to communicate through art and music. Over the past fi ve years, I’ve overcome many challenges, especially around being a boy of color and expressing myself. Some people misunderstood me, thinking I had behavior problems, but thanks to my amazing support team, I’ve made big strides in communication.

My art and singing help lift people’s spirits. My piece, Colors Everywhere, shows that no matter our skin color or emotions, colors are all around us and bring us together.
