Throughout my life I have faced many obstacles. My parents divorced when I was younger, and we moved many places. I struggled to maintain old friendships and make new friends.
The largest obstacle in my life is my mental illness. Since being diagnosed with anxiety and mood disorder, I have struggled with symptoms and maintaining independence. I have been working on recovery by taking my medications and attending day treatment. In the future, I would like to live in my own apartment and continue to live a healthy lifestyle.
I became an artist through classes in school. I learned a lot of different art in middle and high school. I also learned to draw through observing my dad. When I was a kid, I liked to sit and watch my dad draw Ninja Turtles and superheroes. I like art because it is a way for me to express myself. I also like to draw when I am bored. Although I am not the best artist, it is a way for me to cope with stress and the symptoms of my illness.
