I am an adult with an intellectual disability and a student at Vivian B. Adams School (VBAS).
I am a quiet and introverted person, but I enjoy learning and growing in my own way. At VBAS, I am gaining important independent living skills that help me feel more confident each day. Even though I am more reserved, I like being part of group activities with my classmates. These experiences help me feel included and give me a sense of accomplishment.
Art gives me a way to express myself. I enjoy working with colors and creating things that reflect how I feel. I am part of the HeArt (Helping Encourage Artistic Expression to Reinforce and Transform) Program, where our instructor, Mr. Bill Meyer, encourages us to try different materials and explore our creativity. I especially like using color because it helps me communicate without having to say a lot.
