I have faced several obstacles throughout my life, including being diagnosed with OCD, which has significantly impacted my experiences in school, work, and everyday life due to ongoing anxiety. I also have struggled with addiction and substance use, creating additional challenges and barriers. These experiences were difficult, but they have also shaped who I am today and contributed to my personal growth and resilience.
Over time, I have worked hard to overcome these challenges and am proud to have achieved five years of sobriety. Transitioning from jail to a group home has allowed me to gradually gain more independence and experience greater freedom. I became an artist through self-teaching over the years, using creativity as a positive outlet. I value the art I create because it serves as a form of therapy and brings meaning, purpose, and balance to my life.
