I like to draw because it’s a wonderful coping skill for me. As someone living with dementia, I enjoy creating art like this because it allows me to quiet my mind and make something beautiful. Drawing brings back wonderful memories from when I was just 20 years old.
There are days in my life when I’ve felt low, like storm clouds were surrounding me. But one person I can always count on to bring out the sunshine in me is my beautiful daughter, Amanda. You bring out the best in me, and because of that, I’ve named this piece Person. I want to show the world the joy and magic you inspire in me—and if I can earn a few dollars from it, that would be the icing on the cake.
I am beyond thankful for this opportunity. Thank you to my wonderful daughter. I love you.
