My name is Conner. I’m 11 years old and from Montgomery, Alabama. I’m the oldest of four siblings and a 5th-grade honor roll student at Alabama Connections Academy. I live with autism and an intellectual disability, which means I’ve faced many obstacles—but I keep working hard to grow.
I’m a self-taught artist, and art is my outlet. It helps me express feelings I don’t always have words for. I was feeling angry when I created The Shift, but through that anger, I found something beautiful and powerful. My art has been featured at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, and I was honored to receive first place in the 2024 Capitol Showcase Art Exhibit. Art helps me connect with myself and with others—and I hope it helps people see the world a little differently.
