I have had obstacles my whole life. I was born with a speech impediment. I never got speech therapy, or help with it, until I was in the army. I was on active duty in the U.S. Army for 8 years, 4 months, and 24 days. In the army, I went all over Europe. I had many accomplishments while I served: I received an army accommodations medal, worked in electronics, and went to air assault school, and got my wings. 4 years out of the army I was diagnosed with schizophrenia, in 1992. I have to take medications to be stable, and I will have to take them every day for the rest of my life. Medicine alone does not help you 100%. I also have to use coping skills, participate in a treatment program, and luckily I have a good support system. I do my best to continue to be a prosperous, contributing member of my community.

Art is like rainbows in the sky, proving the world won’t be destroyed by water again.
